Fatherhood Connection is proud to partner with organizations, communities, and schools seeking to strengthen fatherhood engagement and programs.

Why engage fathers?

Engaging fathers helps create stronger support systems for families and communities. Children with involved fathers are 43% more likely to earn mostly A’s in school and 33% less likely to repeat a grade

Beyond academics, father presence is linked to better health, emotional wellbeing, and social outcomes. Research shows kids with active dads are less likely to struggle with behavior problems or teen delinquency, and more likely to develop confidence, self-control, and strong peer relationships.

A father’s presence is invaluable — and promoting father involvement also helps normalize men’s and fathers’ mental health.

Despite their importance, only about 10% of elementary school staff are male, and schools and clinics have historically focused on mothers. This contributes to the “fatherless epidemic.” However, father involvement is increasing, with greater awareness of the importance of the role of fatherhood.
